What is Our Vision for Japan?
Our vision is to evangelize the people in the nation of Japan with the Gospel, actively baptize and disciple believers into active service for the Lord’s work, and to plant local, indigenous Baptist churches that are self-governing, self-supporting, and self-propagating.

About Japan
The Land of the Rising Sun
The native name of Japan is pronounced Nippon or Nihon; otherwise, translated “Sun-origin.” Though the origination of the name differs significantly according to which record one reads, the term is fitted because the sun appeared to rise from Japan’s direction; hence the name, “The Land of the Rising Sun.”
Spiritual Depravity of the Nation
The nation of Japan is covered in a spiritual darkness that pervades the society. Statistics indicate between 0.5 – 0.6% claim some form of Evangelical Christianity. Though the youth of the society have been gripped by a spirit of atheism, cultural religious aspects of Buddhism and Shintoism still pervade their society. The spiritual depravity has led to a history of suicide; long considered an “honorable death.” There are over 20,000 suicides committed each year. Though the government has actively engaged in decreasing the risk and rate of suicide, the only True Answer to this depravity is Jesus Christ and His great salvation.
The Opportunity to Reach the Nation
The ties of traditional religion, familial pressures, and the Japanese practice of harmony have presented difficulty in the evangelization of the nation. Yet, through the power of Christ, souls have been saved and there are many more to follow. The Lord has His hands on the beautiful Japanese people. Together we can bring the Gospel, witness the salvation of souls, and plant churches. Together it can be “We for Japan | Japan for Christ.”
